Come Blog with me
Please feel free to send me your comments, and interesting bits of dog news. I don’t want to be the lone bark in a blog after all. Which only makes me wonder if one dog barks in the woods does it make a sound? All right already, what’s new with you is all I am asking!
What a great summer day. It cooled off and all my campers really took advantage of the change in weather. Arty a Cocker puppy camper with ears so floppy you really could tie them in a bow tried desperately to run with the big dogs. No staying on the picnic table for him. His favorite camper was Uncle Oliver (a chocolate Lab), who would bestow him the privilege of an occasional ear pull but would not allow him to drink from “his” pool. Puppies need boundaries, I guess.
Uncle Oliver would have loved to get to know the more mature Maddie (chocolate lab) preferring older women, to young pups but she let him know in no uncertain terms that she preferred to camp alone. Our friend Mary Newman always said “There are a lot worse things than being alone,” and I think Maddie would agree with Mary Newman.
Reba’s a Houndini apprentice, opening her crate door with the speed of a Whippet. It’s rather unnerving to have the thought that all the dogs are settled for an afternoon nap, only to be tapped from behind by an unexpected nose, I turn quickly and I’m face to face with Reba. Reba finds this unsettling game highly amusing.
Camp Is Good! Hope you are too!
